Lip Care Basics

I only recently started wearing lipstick on a consistent basis, and products within that nature, so lip balms were my main staple for quite the amount of time. These are just a few of my favorites that I usually tend to turn back to.

Usually a lip scrub is an essential, but mine ran out so i’ll have to head back down to Fresh Beauty and grab another exfoliant. It’s pretty good, but a lip scrub isn’t necessary to buy because, it really is one of the easiest DIYs out there.

The Glossier Balm Dotcom is one of the few products that I have repurchased and will continue to do so. It can be used several different ways, but this isn’t sponsored so I won’t go into the details. I typically use it primarily as a lip balm, and its the best balm I’ve ever used. I also tend to use it on any dry spots or patches on my face because, its an instant fix. I recently picked up the Coconut scented version and its seriously the perfect amount of fragrance without being overbearing and has a consistent formulation to the original.

The Estee Lauder Lip Conditioner was my original go-to lip balm, but for nearly double the price as the Glossier balm, and slower results, I made a switch. Overall it is a very good moisturizer, but it doesn’t last very long so you’ll have to constantly reapply. I’ve actually had this for so long that they’ve changed the packaging of the product!

For the Skinfood Avocado Lip Balm, tub containers are less sanitary, but I really like the consistency of the product, as well as the packaging. Whenever I had super dry or cracked lips, especially if I was sick, this would repair them pretty well. Again, like the Estee Lauder product, you’ll need to reapply consistently

This little item the, Nature Republic By Flower Tint Lip Balm was actually a gift and I love this lip balm. It’s a clear appearance in the packaging, but when you actually swipe some on, its a sheer pinky-red shade with a slight shimmer. It has very good pigmentation and a perfect summer tint. The person pictured in the lip balm is a K-pop star in case you were wondering, from the group EXO. Not gonna lie, I really do like their music as well. Especially this album.

The Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm isn’t actually very moisturizing at all. It does moisturize, but nothing significant. It’s a tint with slight moisturizing factors, but a very light tint. It has the appearance of a bold cherry color from the tube, but when you swatch it, its actually a sheer red. Wouldn’t repurchase because, the color is very faint and most lipsticks are pretty moisturizing, so I’d opt for a better color payoff.

Lastly, the Fresh Lip Treatment is a very hyped up product, but I don’t really see why. It’s not that moisturizing, it has a shimmer, and tastes like lemonade. The lemonade part isn’t  bad but its overbearing at times. I usually just use it for the tint because, the moisturizing properties aren’t sufficient for me.
