I only recently got into the Liquid Lipstick trend, so I bought a ton of shades from different brands to test some out.
Sidenote: I got my nails done literally yesterday and they’re looking pretty rough already. I know gel lasts longer and this and that, but I can’t afford to damage my already frail nails.
Of course I started off with some ColourPop which I did a full review here, and they’re worth the $6. I wish they wouldn’t transfer as intensely as they do especially for a liquid lipstick, but I mean hey its $6. I have to go and try some drugstore alternatives to find a non-transfer formula. Also as a side note, if you use a serum or facial oil like I do, then don’t touch these lipstick tubes or else the glittery words on the tube will completely smear off like how they are pictured..
Overall, it has insane lack in formula consistency so a few shades will last through everything and anything and some come off from just eating a sandwich. The shades I’ve been wearing since my haul were Tulle, Avenue and my favorite More Better.
Kylie Cosmetics actually surprised me. I mean their formulation is pretty even and it’s not drying in the least bit. I mean for me personally I don’t have any issues with drying from ColourPop, but the Lip Kit formula is a tad bit more moisturizing. Now do I feel that it’s worth like 5x the price of a ColourPop single lipstick? Not at all. If you moisturize properly before hand you will be fine for most shades I feel for ColourPop. Plus you have to pay shipping on Kylie’s site and that’s usually a deal breaker for me. She recently had a free shipping day, but considering she gets a ton of orders regardless of the shipping charges, I doubt she would do it again anytime soon.
Aside from the liquid lips, my regular basic essential the Chanel Lipstick Rouge Allure. I have the shade Pirate, which is basically a berry-red shade and it’s perfect for any outfit, and any season. Plus the packaging is seriously luxurious.
